Hm, well, that's pretty much accurate (especially compared to the other choices), although Pavement was only the best band of 1992. And I have no idea who that's a picture of. But yeah, I'm an indie dilettante. I'm amused that none of the questions made me want to say "none of the above" but many made me want to say "I can only pick one?!" In particular the "greatest inspiration to bands you listen to" had no bad answers; I ended up with the Stooges just because grunge was my first love.

Kraut Rock!

I think choosing Coffee on drug of choice and then Trans Europe Express for lyric put me in the avante garde.

I do like Kraftwerk, Front 242 and Einsturzende Neubauten at bit too much so it probably fits.

I love Kraut Rock too, but I'm not that big on free jazz. Seems kind of odd to lump them in together; they're almost polar opposites depending on how you look at it: extremely repetitive rhythms vs. the near total absence of rhythmic structure. I guess, though, if you go far enough in one direction you come out the other side.

Not sure one could use that to describe Einsturzende Neubauten or at least not the stuff I have anyway.
