Well, no one praised the Skye Klad track, but no one complained either, so I'm going to keep going. This time it's Tugboat Annie, "Stay Inside", a pop-punk gem with Nirvana/Pixies-style soft/loud dynamics. Tugboat Annie started in Buffalo and moved to Boston in 1993 where Mike Hibarger's Sonic Bubblegum label released this track on a split 7" single (with Crazy Alice on the other side); this mp3 comes from the Shreds: Volume 1 compilation CD put out that year by Shredder Records of San Rafael, CA (which also included singles from J Church, the Swirlies, Mary Lou Lord, NOFX, and the Mr. T Experience, among others). Tugboat Annie put out a number of good albums afterwards, but they drifted into a slower, more emo style that never quite connected with me the way this song did.

By the way, I think I'm gonna go to Chicago to see Slint. Yay.
