I managed to play games every day of National Games Week until today. I was tempted to go out to Worcester today but decided I wasn't in the mood for that long a drive alone, and I wasn't in the mood to find someone to invite at the last minute. Here's a brief rundown:
  • Sunday: Went to the Good Time Emporium for Andy & Cally's birthday party; played some Asteroids, Pac-Man, Galaga, air hockey, and one marathon game of Tichu (something like 18 hands when it's usually about 10-12). Stopped at Chris's regular Winter Hill gaming session on the way home and played Odin's Ravens and Goldbraü.
  • Monday: Went over to [livejournal.com profile] prog's, played some Burnout 3 and watched a demo of Katamari Damacy, then played Ploy, a '60s-era space-age chess variant from 3M.
  • Tuesday: David's regular Tuesday night group in Watertown. Played San Juan, Mamma Mia, Zero, Scream Machine, Office Space (a very clever card game from the Feb. 2005 issue of Games magazine by Tom Jolly), and Foppen, in which I was leading after 4 hands but ended up in dead last two hands later.
  • Wednesday: Richard's Inner Circle Gaming in Watertown, which has been on Mondays for a while but sometimes switches back to Wednesdays. Played Can't Stop, Ticket to Ride (using the Lyon map; I won by a large margin after finishing last the previous two times on the US map), Employee of the Month, 4-player Ta-Yü, and Billabong.
  • Thursday: Spent Thanksgiving at Matt's in Framingham. Played Smarty Party (with the new expansion set cards), Viva Pamplona, Logistico, Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers (with the Scout expansion), Formula Motor Racing, and yet another marathon game of Tichu, although this time it was partly due to two new players and a spectacular number of failed Tichu calls (mostly by me). Dinner was Chinese delivered from a much better restaurant than the last time I had Chinese at Matt's.
  • Friday: Had people over to my place for a change. Played Tabula Rasa, Office Space again, Maharaja, Succession, Bluff, Coda, 6 Nimmt, and Space Beans.
I'm too lazy to look up links at Boardgamegeek.com, but you should go there if you're curious about any of these games. Or ask me and I'll add more details.

well, sheesh

Is this the Matt who lives around the corner from me? Sheesh, I was home by 5.30, you could've come for coffee. Also, can you find out the Chinese place? I don't know a good one here yet.

Yeah, but then I would've missed games. :) The Chinese place was Pacific Buffet. Good General Gau's chicken and garlic beef.

I don't even own a copy of Katamari Damacy yet and I already feel like I'm obsesssed with it. I saw it played last week at a friend's house and was blown away.

There's three s'es in a row in that "obsesssed," which is appropriate.
