Well, Ronald Reagan finally faded away. I don't have anything nice to say about him, so I'm just going to leave it at that. I just really hope the upcoming memorialization doesn't last too long, or get too revisionist. I'm not optimistic.

Update: I just thought of one good thing to say: Nancy Reagan supports stem cell research because it could help find a cure for Alzheimer's. I am surprised and impressed by her open-mindedness, and I hope she can coerce people who would otherwise never consider it because of their religious beliefs. But I'm still not optimistic.

When Nixon died, the obits remembered the good and the bad things about him. But today on the radio I didn't hear anything about, say, selling arms to terrorists to finance the overthrow of democratic governments. But then I didn't listen to the love-in for very long before I had to shut it off.

I tried to write something about Nancy Reagan and stem cell research--basically I'm glad she's working to support it, but I'm not happy that it takes a personal tragedy to get people to come around. Okay, I guess I just wrote it. Man, I'm tired.

Even NPR didn't mention it while I was listening. Fortunately I had some good CDs with me.

What's your favorite Iran-Contra CD? I think I have them all.
