OK, so I'm a bit behind the curve (har har) on baseball news, but I just found out that Randy Johnson pitched a perfect game on Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves. In case you don't follow sports, this means all 27 who came up to bat against him failed to get on base. This is only the 17th time this has happened in major league history, and only the 5th time in the National League since 1880. Not bad for a 40-year-old!

The Big, um, what?


You know, I heard this on NPR yesterday, and all I could think was, "His name is Randy Johnson? And his nickname is what now?" Is the nickname because of his name, or do I just have a dirty mind?

Oh, and it's totally an amazing feat of athleticism, too. And stuff.

The "big" part is because he's 6'10", the tallest player in MLB history. I have no idea why they picked "unit". It's definitely snicker-worthy. Unless he's 60'6" away from you with a baseball in his hand. Especially if you're a dove:
