When I'm at home, I often don't notice when I get text messages on my phone (T-Mobile G1), but I usually check my email on my desktop regularly. I'd like to auto-forward text messages to email. Anyone know how to do this? I could do it with Google Voice, but not if I want to keep my current phone number. There's an Android app txtForward that claims to do this, but it's £2.99, and there's only one comment in the Android Market (complaining about screen locking or something). Anyone tried it? Are there other apps?

Also, by the way, I have 16 Google Wave invitations. Let me know if you'd like one. So far Google Wave is underwhelming, but I figure it can't hurt to claim an address.

You're the second in my flist to mention having google wave invitations. What is google wave and why should I want one?

Ah, good question. It's sort of a next-generation Gmail, a browser-based messaging tool. It has some aspects of a wiki, with collaborative editing, but with more mail/news/blog-like threading structure. Here's one explanation, though I don't think the current implementation lives up to what he views it as yet.

On or two of the members of my mystery hunt team would love a few of those invites...

You can forward your current phone number to some other phone number pretty easy. I have my personal cell forwarding unanswered calls to… you guessed it… gvoice.

Sounds like you should ditch your current phone number!

I have a bunch of Google Wave invites now also, and I'm finding them surprisingly difficult to give away. The eager people seem to have gotten theirs now, as opposed to a month ago when there was some anxiety out there. So we're left with people who don't know what it is and/or don't know why they would want one.
