So, yep, I bought a T-Mobile G1, aka Google Phone. I used it to log the games I played tonight, but it was kind of a pain (I added most of the details just now from my desktop). I guess I know what my first Android app will be, unless [livejournal.com profile] ext_100875 beats me to it. Here's my first gPhone photo:

Carcassonne: The Tower

Now, what do I do with my old Samsung Verizon Wireless phone? I still have $43.96 left, from the $100 prepay in September. (Clearly I was right not to go with the $40/month plan.) I guess I can use it when I run out of minutes on T-Mobile (300/month), but that seems unlikely.

Cool. I'm looking forward to finding out what you think of it long term.

What to do with your old phone: Report it as stolen, then make nuisance calls to your political enemies.

So what is your new cell number? Post another puzzle with the solution being the new phone number!

I'm probably going to transfer the old number to the new phone, once I use up (or give up on) the old phone's balance.

Well, first of all, the Android browser just seems kind of slow in general, even when using wifi. But the BoardGameGeek site does a lot of AJAXy things that seem to compound the slowness, for things that seem instantaneous in my desktop browser. Also, the Record Play forms just aren't designed all that well, at least for the things I want to record.

Hm, I just noticed the XML API is read-only. I guess this wouldn't be as easy as I thought.
