I forgot to mention, this weekend I am attending the Brainwaves Festival 2008, a three-day concert at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA, put on by Jon Whitney, the guy behind the Brainwashed music site. Last night was great: Meat Beat Manifesto, Silver Apples, Marissa Nadler, and JG Thirlwell's Manorexia. It's awesome to be able to sit down in a comfy theater chair for an event like this, not to mention not having to roadtrip like the last two three-day music festivals I went to! There are still plenty of tickets left ($45 for today, $20 for tomorrow, all general-admission so you can sit wherever you like) so if you're in the area and want to see some great live music, you should stop by. Here's the rest of the lineup:

Saturday, November 22, 2008 - doors at noon, music begins at 1pm
His Name Is Alive

I would pay good money to see Meat Beat Manifesto. Geez. I really /really/ hate being in Alabama.

I was really psyched to see them, and they almost lived up to my expectations—I was hoping to hear more songs that I recognized, but there were only two: Helter Skelter (aka It's In My Brain Now), and another one whose name I don't know and that doesn't appear to have a video on YouTube. (No "Acid Again" or "Psyche Out", alas.) It was also a little weird venue for them; as much as I liked sitting down and zoning out watching their crazy video montage, I kinda want to see them in a hot sweaty club now too.
