Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ketzl for posting her list of new and returning fall TV shows of interest. Here are a few other new shows I'm curious enough about to add Tivo Season Passes:
  • Eleventh Hour: "He's on a crusade to protect the world of science from those who want to abuse and misuse scientific discoveries and breakthroughs for their own gain." I know I'm just setting myself up for disappointment but that does sound kinda cool.
  • My Own Worst Enemy: Christian Slater has multiple personalities. Hey, remember Christian Slater? Good times.
  • Crusoe: I'm hoping this isn't going to stick too close to the novel, because frankly it was kind of boring. On the other hand, I'm also dreading how they might "spice it up" (Harlem Globetrotters, maybe?). But, the cast includes Sam Neill, and he's always worth watching. (Presumably he'll be a cuckold as usual.)
  • Worst Week: I love the other three sitcoms in CBS's Monday night line-up, so I'll give this a shot. But I hope they don't have Kurtwood Smith making more "my foot in your ass" jokes.
  • Gary Unmarried: Another CBS sitcom. Jay Mohr is kind of a tool these days, but I liked Paula Marshall in Hidden Hills, Out of Practice, and, yes, full-frontal nudity in Californication.
  • The Ex List: It probably won't be a gender-reversed Broken Flowers or High Fidelity, but I'm still slightly intrigued.
There's also Starter Wife, which isn't exactly a new show—it started as a miniseries last season. I enjoyed the first two hours, and the rest is waiting on my Tivo.

Any other shows coming up worth checking out?

I'm checking out 'Fringe', at least for an episode or two. I generally like JJ Abrams' stuff. I'm guessing you're not interested, since you don't mention it and I don't think you could possibly have missed it.

Was also considering Worst Week, Eleventh Hour and My Own Worst Enemy without actually expecting very much from them.

Waiting for Dollhouse to make the midseason.

I didn't repeat the shows that [livejournal.com profile] ketzl mentioned, but I guess I should have: I'm planning to check out Fringe, True Blood, Valentine, Sons of Anarchy, Life on Mars (I never saw the original), and Dollhouse.

Heaven forbid anyone use SCIENCE for constructive purposes...

Beyond the one you mentioned that is on my list (Crusoe), I'm planning on watching Dollhouse, Fringe, Sons of Anarchy and maybe Sanctuary...True Blood could be good but I won't shell out for HBO...also Life on Mars but after what I've heard about the issues during production of the pilot I think I might just Torrent the BBC version.

Hm, hadn't heard of Sanctuary. Did you watch the web episodes? The others you mention were on [livejournal.com profile] ketzl's list.

BTW we watched the premiere ep of Sons of Anarchy last night. Good stuff! We picked up the season pass.

I watched some of "the ex list." It has an interesting premise, but I don't see how it will last more than a year. But, jesus, it's like a chick flick in TV form. I swooned almost every other scene.
