I was randomly looking up people born in 1907, and it turns out that today (July 7) would have been Robert Heinlein's 100th birthday! Sadly we're still short-lifers, but maybe someday someone will outlive Lazarus Long.
My ex-husband thought he was genetically superior to everyone, and (a) should be cloned a zillion times over right now because the world would be so much better off and (b) should live forever because the world will suffer without him so.
I had thought about going to the Heinlein Centennial (http://www.heinleincentennial.com/) with the reasoning that it would otherwise be 2107 before I could celebrate his birthday on 07/07/07. However, I don't really like his work that much and I decided I'd really enjoy ReaderCon (http://www.readercon.org/) much more.

I hated him looooong before I divorced him.
But Heinlein is cool.
Have spacesuit, will travel.
