I had an idea today. I listen to a lot of obscure music, but much of it is obscure not because it's bad or difficult, just because it was never "discovered" by the popular tastemakers. So I'm going to start posting music here, with the loose theme of "the best music you've never heard of", i.e. stuff that I think could be radio hits in an alternate universe. I don't know how regular the posts will be, and the links may not stay around all that long if the traffic burden becomes onerous, but let's see how it goes.
I'll start off with Skye Klad, "Mind's Eye". I think this actually got some play on WMBR a few years ago, but that may have been a different track from this album. It's a catchy little dark-psych ditty with kind of a gothic surf twang. Okay, my descriptions are going to need some work, but just go and listen. And check out their web site.
Feel free to leave comments, positive or negative. Feedback will give me a better idea for what else to post. (Also, let me know if that URL doesn't work—I want to see if I can get away with not using %20 for spaces.) (Update: looks like LJ converts the spaces to %20 anyway. Or something.)
