Jon Stewart's interview of Will Shortz was fun, though short as always on that show. Did Jon really propose to his wife with a crossword puzzle? It didn't seem like he was joking about that. Either way, it reminded me of the episode of "Dharma & Greg" called "Charma Loves Greb" where Dharma commissions a crossword puzzle for Greg's birthday (but he's not very good at crossword puzzles, hence the title).
Anyway, I've been thinking about the current NPR Weekend Edition Sunday Puzzle:
Anyway, I've been thinking about the current NPR Weekend Edition Sunday Puzzle:
Take two exclusively male first names, 5 and 6 letters respectively. Switch the initial letters, and you'll get two exclusively female first names, also 5 and 6 letters respectively. What are they?I still haven't solved it, but there are surprisingly many male/female name pairs that differ only in their first letter. The closest I've come up with is a pair of 5-letter male names: Jimmy/Kenny -> Kimmy/Jenny; I've also found some shorter pairs, but nothing with 6 letters seems to work. If you figure it out, feel free to post it here so I can stop thinking about it...
