Shelling Out -- The Origins of Money (from
quietlife_full)
Board Game News (from
boardgamenews)
Craig Swanson's transparent computers (no LJ syndication for his feed yet, hint hint)
Pascal Costanza's Highly Opinionated Guide to Lisp (from reddit.com, also no LJ syndication yet)
The Holy Tango of Literature has been released under a Creative Commons license (from
heaneyland)
Richard Dawkins's "Good And Bad Reasons For Believing" (I forget where I found this)
Knarly Jigs, a new shareware puzzle game for Windows from Everett Kaser. I actually got real snail mail about this! I've been on their mailing list since I bought their paint-by-numbers program, Descartes Enigma. I also really like the MESH series of puzzles.
Mark Gardener (from Ride)'s set at the Paradise last night (from
bradalmanac). Also, American Analog Set from a couple weeks ago. I wanted to go to both of these shows but flaked out.
Byte, a new abstract strategy game played with an ordinary checkers set. The inventor, Mark Steere, seems kind of full of himself, but it does look like a neat game. He also invented a few other interesting-looking games, including Tanbo, played with a Go set.
Edit: OK, one more:
urbaniak's literary comparison of
eronanke to Basho.
Edit: Another one I almost forgot about: Paul Graham's essay about PR, or, how the Men's Wearhouse got a bunch of newspapers to "report" that "suits are back!".
