Reminder and time change: Birthday party this Sat. 11/12, 2pm-midnight
As of today, I am now eligible to become President of the United States! Feel free to start writing my name in. Meanwhile, this is a reminder that I will be having a birthday party at my place this Saturday, November 12. I'm changing the start time to 2pm instead of noon-- now that I've entered this new age bracket, I'm finding I need more time to sleep in... So feel free to show up any time between 2 and midnight, and stay for as long (or short) as you like.
Some clarifications about the nature of this party:
Unlike most of my gatherings, this is not meant to be an exclusively game-playing party. It's true that most of my friends are game players, and I'm not going to stop anyone from playing games, but I'm hoping at least some of my non-gaming friends will show up and I wouldn't want them to feel left out. Of course the last time I did this everyone ended up playing Boggle all day, so whatever works.
Please don't bring gifts. However, you are encouraged-- but not required-- to bring an exotic dish, snack, or drink to share. By "exotic" I just mean something less boring than a can of Pringles or a bottle of Coke. It's not a pot-luck, don't knock yourself out cooking up a fancy casserole or whatever, I just thought it would be fun to see what interesting food my friends like.
