There's been a lot of Feelies love in the air this week. Several threads on several mailing lists,
modpixie's Venture Bros mash-up/songfic, and I heard their cover of "Everybody's Got Something To Hide (Except For Me and My Monkey)" twice on WZBC. (Yes, a college radio station played the same song more than once in a week!) I'm guessing this revival traces back to the recent Citi commercial featuring a clip from "Slow Down" (with the remote-control plane). Anyway, I figured it was a good excuse for a bonus music sharing post this week.
The Good Earth (1986) is one of my favorite albums, but I had a hard time picking a track. I was tempted to use one of the album centerpieces, the 6-minute "Slipping (Into Something)", but instead I decided to pick two 3-minute songs that showed more of their breadth: The Feelies, "On the Roof" and The Feelies, "The Last Roundup". Enjoy!
