[livejournal.com profile] lambda_ultimate linked to an article about interactive fiction programming languages (Inform and TADS), written by someone at a company called Interactive Factory, in Boston. So I went to their site, and a few clicks later ended up on the Our Team page, where I found a picture of [livejournal.com profile] cnoocy. Small world!

Looks like they don't actually do interactive fiction there, by the way. But their mission statement sounds straight out of Bureaucracy.

Time for some techno: 808 State, "Qmart" from their 1991 album ex:el. 808 State is my favorite techno artist, probably because they were the first I really latched onto after being blown away by "Cubik" and "In Yer Face" on Live 105. This track is much more mellow than those, but it's one of the only techno tracks I've heard that's in 3/4 time so I thought it would make for a good curiosity. It also has vocals by Björk, which perhaps breaks the "music you've never heard of" rule, but oh well. This is also the first mp3 I've posted from a major label, so, like, don't tell the RIAA.

Edited: The link should work now. Let me know if not.
Watching my web server logs, I see lots of requests for favicon.ico, which makes me think it'd be nice to have one for The Steak Place. Anyone have artistic talent that's expressible with only 16x16 pixels? Maybe a picture of a steak, or a fork & knife, or just some sort of interesting mnemonic squiggle to go in people's address bars and bookmark lists. I'd be willing to give out a reward, but I can't think of anything good to give. (I could do t-shirts, but then I'd have to have someone design a t-shirt...)
