Once again, Kerry made up a lot of lost ground, but he still missed a lot of opportunities to defend and to attack. And his handling of the "look into the camera and pledge" question was embarrassing—he really needs to learn how to finish his sentences and give good solid soundbites. But the huge opening he missed, when Bush tried to defend giving tax cuts to the rich, was to call it "voodoo economics" like GHW Bush did in 1980. (I liked his reference to "fuzzy math", though.)
