I got this message today from out of the blue, which I almost deleted as spam before reading:

Subject: question concerning one of your pictures

Hi Doug
My name is Feddo Renier and I live in Amsterdam, Holland.
I'm going to be a father of my first daughter next week. I want to make a really beautiful birth card for her.
I want to use a picture of a cloud, so I started looking on Google for pictures of clouds.
Then I stumbled across one of your pictures, that was cached by google (find it attached). It's really cool.
Unfortunately it's not on your server anymore.
Can I use it and can you send me the original?
Please let me know.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanx in advance

Bye

Feddo Renier
He was referring to a picture of a cloud I took in Tennessee with an old 110 camera; I hope it's not too grainy for him to use. Anyway, when I moved my web site from Northeastern to The Steak Place I broke the link to my scanned photos, so I fixed it.

I also realized that I accidentally deleted my index of pictures of games (with annotations), but thanks to The Wayback Machine I recovered those pages with one exception: for some reason it doesn't have an archived copy of http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/dougo/pics/games/2002_09_17/ even though it has all the other pages before and after it. If anyone knows of another archive that might have a copy of this page, please let me know. I still have the images, but I'd like to have the original commentary as well.

And yes, I realize that I'm almost two years behind in posting pictures of games. After I graduate I do plan to organize all my photos and caption as many of them as I can stand to. Meanwhile if you really want to see them you can probably figure out the URLs yourself...
