This weekend, I used my roommate's color printer to print out a bunch of English translations for German game rules, cards, etc., and the ink levels were getting pretty low. Given the ridiculously nice weather today, I decided to go look for some replacement ink cartridges. I walked down to Porter Square with a hazy recollection of there being a computer store in that neighborhood. Turns out there isn't (or at least I didn't find one), but instead I found an entire store dedicated to printer ink. Okay, it's a tiny store (about 6' x 8') but it still struck me as extravagant. And a strange coincidence that there happened to be the exact store I needed in exactly the place I was looking. (Wasn't there a store in one of the Harry Potter books like this?) Anyway, I picked up some cartridges (black and color) and was happy.

On the way back, I stopped in at Brooks Pharmacy to pick up some printer paper (there was none at the ink store-- just ink, that's it) and ran across a printer ink refill "kit" that seemed to amount to basically just a big bottle of ink. My first reaction was "you can do that?" but then I figured it would potentially be way too messy, so I'm glad to overpay for nice and neat cartridges. I also picked up some Christmas candy-- 50% off!-- and groaned at the shelves of Valentine's Day candy already being set up. Shouldn't they be putting up Martin Luther King, Jr. Day cards and candy first? Or, you know, New Year's Day confetti and stuff?
