Message in a bottle

I have been having mail problems all week (seeing replies to messages I never saw), and now I haven't received any mail since about noon today; I just got a message from the college sysadmin saying there's a university-wide network problem due to the SoBig worm (although apparently not connected to the 3pm deadline for something big to happen). My outgoing mail hasn't made it either. So if anyone particularly needs to reach me, I guess posting comments here is the best way at the moment.

Meanwhile, the raging thunderstorm seems to have mostly subsided, and it isn't any less hot out. At least I still have electricity...
