Some of my Dear Readers may remember Ana Marie Cox—one of you went to college with her, some might recall her Chugchanga-L posts, more will probably recognize her by her Suck.com pseudonym, Ann O'Tate. Anyway, now she's writing a Washington DC gossip column called Wonkette, and it's even syndicated here at LiveJournal: [livejournal.com profile] wonkette. Today's posts are mostly about this weekend's White House Correspondents Dinner, where Al Franken apparently stalked her. (There's also her personal journal, [livejournal.com profile] theanticmuse, but it seems to be lying fallow.)

Huh. Her stuff had been called to my attention in at least three, probably four, of those identities, but I'd never had them tied together before.

I don't remember her from college or Chugchanga-L or Suck.com, but I was a regular reader of The Antic Muse for a while.

I've been reading Wonkette since it started, but I had no idea she used to be on chug. I somehow didn't picture her in those terms. Wonkette can be entertaining but is also really annoying sometimes.

Yeah, she was part of the early '90s Wicker Park/Baffler scene. And if I'm not totally mis-remembering, she used to date Seth Sanders, whom I believe is the only person banned from chugchanga-l for life. (Ironically when I googled for "seth sanders" "nest of ninnies" to make sure I was thinking of the right person, the first hit was an essay by AMC from 1995. Wait, that's not irony, is it?)

bingo

that's a perfect description of Ms. Cox herself, actually. I know dougo met her, but I can't remember if you did?

Re: the video: it's nice to see that she looks less like a chipmunk now that she's hit 30.

also, speaking of chug:

I had to smile when you mentioned moth macabre. I like that CD even though I know I shouldn't.
