Mainly I use Twitter only when I'm stuck somewhere away from my desktop and have nothing better to do than screw around on my phone. Like, for example, when I'm at a concert waiting for the next band to start. Turns out this works pretty well as a way for me to (micro)blog about live music. Here are all my concert tweets collected for your perusal.

8:33 PM: At the Trail of Dead show. Hope it's over before the snow starts again.
9:13 PM: Depressing/annoying/inappropriate music on the PA, as usual. I kinda hate the Middle East.
9:15 PM: Okay, nevermind, the PA music was appropriate for the opening band, which is also depressing/annoying.
9:42 PM: Okay, they (Midnight Masses) got better. Still not really what I was in the mood for.
10:36 PM: I have a longstanding crush on the coat check girl at the Middle East downstairs. I should totally make a move. I wish I had a move...
1:25 AM: Trail of Dead show was not as amazing as ATP, but still great. Smiled at coat check girl. Drive home in the snow was slippery. Good night

7:43 PM: Waiting to see Steeleye Span at the Somerville Theater. Never seen this many old people in Davis Square before!

8:35 PM: Last minute decision to see Os Mutantes at the Somerville Theater, 5 mins walk away.
8:36 PM: I think my cold is finally abating. Had to skip Felix & Cara's wedding this afternoon though.
8:38 PM: Distance between balcony rows is less than the length of my femur.
8:41 PM: First Brown School Card use: free small popcorn. Weird to eat popcorn at a live concert.
10:09 PM: Os Mutantes (The Mutants): 1960s psychedelic pop band from Brazil. First US tour in 30 years. Pretty great!
10:10 PM: Oddly, the band they most remind me of is The Plastic People of the Universe, 60s Czech psych band who toured here recently too.

8:42 PM: At the ICA, just saw Lichens. Up next: Six Organs of Admittance, then Om.
8:46 PM: Institue of Contemporay Art: didn't know they had an amphitheater. Very nice, two glass walls looking out on the harbor.
9:34 PM: Lichens: one guy layering wordless crooning onto itself into massive glaciers of sound.
9:35 PM: Six Organs of Admittance: two acoustic guitars and percussion. Journeys into the wilderness and back.
9:37 PM: Was glad to hear two pieces from Dust & Chimes, but Six Organs didn't really fit in the venue. I think they need a cozier space.
11:23 PM: @napkinshoe Lichens reminds me of Fursaxa.
11:25 PM: Om: bass and drum duo, plus the Lichens guy doing miscellaneous. Pretty good, but they never fully grab me.
11:40 PM: I should like Om more than I do. I guess I have high expectations for a guy who was part of Sleep's Jerusalem, one of my favorite albums.
12:01 AM: On the T ride home, I saw two guys also coming home from the show, each sitting alone like me. Kind of sad.

8:59 PM: At Macchu Picchu in Union Sq. Just ordered the beef hearts. Magic Band optional.
9:21 PM: Beef hearts were tasty! Rice pudding coming up, then the Wooden Shjips / Sunburned Hand of the Man show at PA's Lounge. Mucho tasty!
9:22 PM: Chuck Biscuits is still alive. Was news of his death "too bad to check"?
10:09 PM: Ghost Box Orchestra were awesome! Energetic shoegaze krautrock jams. Drummer is Ryan Rex from Lockgroove, amazing as usual.
10:10 PM: Wish I'd done my homework and known not to miss the first 30 mins of their set. The rice pudding was really good, though.
11:28 PM: Hooooooly crap, Wooden Shjips ruled. Sizzling smoldering propulsive gales of subterranean bongsmoke. Plus organ.
11:30 PM: My first time seeing Wooden Shjips in a non-festival setting. They work better in a small club after dark.
12:32 AM: Sunburned Hand of the Man didn't show, or at least didn't play. And only 2/3 of Doomstar. They called themselves Urethra Franklin instead.
12:33 AM: Urethra Franklin pretty much cleared the room, but I was enjoying them. Drums and analog synths and wailing. Anticlimactic, though.

10:34 PM: Ctd from last night: Openers US Christmas were good, doom/drone metal. Connected to Neurosis, I think?
10:35 PM: Baroness was not what I expected. Cheese metal, like The C4AM95 with zero irony. Plus emo-singalong vocals. ?!
10:37 PM: Baroness wasn't bad, but I was more in the mood for doom/stoner rock implied by their great merch table artwork. Left after 4 or 5 songs.
10:40 PM: Tonight I'm back at the Middle East downstairs for Cave-In. Actually I'm back at Hi-Fi now. Love their pizza w/oregano and red pepper!
1:08 AM: Cave-In was somewhat of a let down. I dearly, dearly love their album Jupiter, but they only played one song from it, Big Riff.
1:10 AM: Rest of Cave-In's set was okay, but nothing I recognized. They seem to be moving back towards their screaming HC metal roots. Meh.
1:12 AM: The crowd for Cave-In was oddly still until the penultimate song, when a HUGE pit erupted. Old fave I guess? It didn't sound any different
1:17 AM: Cave-In ended after an hour, then the house music went right on. Crowd chanted 15 mins for encore until "Bananaphone" chased everyone out.

11:06 PM: Decided at the last minute to see some bands at Great Scott tonight: Dear Leader, Hush Now, Arletta.
11:07 PM: Except The Hush Now played first so I missed them. Really wanted to check them out, oh well. Can't trust last.fm event listings I guess.
11:31 PM: Turns out my pal Joe Turner did video projection for The Hush Now tonight. Small world.
11:47 PM: Arletta was not really my thing, kinda generic downbeat rock, sort of rootsy. Except the 2nd half of every 3rd song was kind of awesome.
1:30 AM: Dear Leader: pretty good. Only 2 or 3 songs grabbed me, but The Sheila Divine's songs were mostly growers too. (Aaron Perrino's old band)
1:42 AM: Dear Leader's last song had a "1987 Love Medley": Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before, Looking For A New Love, Shake Your Love
1:45 AM: It's weird that it took me this long to get around to seeing Dear Leader. They've now been around longer than The Sheila Divine was.
1:47 AM: And Dear Leader's bassist was in Tugboat Annie! I thought he looked familiar.
