There's also the goal tiles, which I do think add a fair amount to the game. A lot of people dismiss them as only adding more randomness, but I think they add some more tactical decisions.

Anyway, yes, I think it's worth it. It's only $18 online, and for the amount of times I play Race for the Galaxy, it's great to have new cards to keep it from getting stale.
